It was me. I waved :hello: I sub 1 houred on that climb, then thought "feck it", why don't I go down and climb it again  My first D'eux D'Alpe (as the strava segment has it). 2hrs 43 mins to go up, down, up, down  My legs may be a little bit tired now :B) And my body about 2000 calories in deficit ^_^

Sleep now :tired:
@Whorty You did it twice in the time it took me to do it once :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I felt really sorry for Wout Van Aert. To have happen to him, what did, and still make it back to the lead group was a phenominal ride. It's a shame he couldn't make it stick. He deserved better than he got.

Without doubt he is a very strong rider, but he does seem to lack sheer grunt of the seasoned 'Monument' specialists. He will probably get stronger as the years roll on. A very impressive first few races for sure

For an hour specialist, his performances over the last few monuments and Strada Bianchi bode well for the future. If he gets a little of the luck, he didn't have today, he'll be a tough nut to beat.

Wout Van Aert was unlucky rider, that crash came without reason after he swap his bike. After that Wout Van Aert look little bit too hot and burn his fuses. Anyway good to see Gilbert win that classic. Deceunick-Quick-Step is been a strong so far.

There was a group of guys everesting the alpe when I went up it a couple of days ago. Got me thinking... But I don’t know if I’ve got patience for that even if I could physically do it, which must be pretty tough in itself. Maybe.

Normally its 15+ hrs to accomplish an Everest challenge. Two teen-agers attempted up the Ditchling a year ago. Only one finished

There were some doing it yesterday when i was doing the double Alpe. They were talking inn German so i couldn't work out how far they had got. Took me 2hrs 43 yesterday to go up and down twice .... is everesting 8.5 times up and down? If so, assuming i could keep the same pace as the second climb, i'd need another 10 or so hours, so about 13 in total.

Yesterday i did the first climb too hard as i wanted a sub hour time, but i f i was going for multiple climbs again i'd reign it in a bit.

Are you riding at 100% trainer difficulty or trying to find a similar gear to the SS?

When i try to replicate the ToC on an SS gear i select a flat course (like Volcano flat, Innsbruck or London), set trainer to 100% and put it in a gear slightly larger than what i will use on the day. I need to get my arse in gear and do a 100km like this on Zwift to get some proper training in ..... who knows, I may even do an outside ride or 2 before the ToC too

I watched the penultimate hour of Paris Roubaix on the turbo then the final hour in a heap on the floor  (Had a track session at Lee Valley on Saturday and it was killing - nothing in the legs at all yesterday)

Just checking on Zwift.com, I noticed that Stage 3 of the ToW is a group workout of Jon's Mix: as long as you keep pedalling, you stick with the group, everyone's speed is normalised and you just ride around in a big blob... so I guess it's a 'neutralized' sector?

Yes it's a neutralized sector. I don't think you have to follow that workout literally, as long you keep pedaling in some kind of effort you stay with the others without big problem. But we will see that.
