Aaac - if you click - ride- after you have chosen race ( you should have a little tick with going by the side ) then as you are riding it will transport you to start

Didn't know we were out here together.

Where are you staying @bert1971 ?

I'm in the Hotel Puerto Azul. Could meet up for a Cycle Chat smash?

Sorry @Del C i didn’t see this until this morning. Got back yesterday. Not that it matters now but I was in Port de Pollença. Amazing place to ride, Sa Collabra is something else. (My first time, late to the party I know). Would have defiantly met up for a ride though.

Well of the declared riders, those who've uploaded to Strava. It was Jay McCarthy, finished 80th and Nathan Brown, finished 98th, who did the climb the quickest, 5m50s, yesterday. 30 odd seconds down on the KOM of V. Nibali. They finished 1m34s and 1m45s down on Roglic, respectively.

This may change if others who did the stage upload their data.

What I'd like to know is how the Pros who did it on Zwift this week compared to when they did it in real life. So, how does my 9:22 really compare to the Pros? Am I still being flattered (maybe even just because I don't have to slow down for corners, for e.g.)? Also, on the turbo I can absolutely cane it, knowing I can always get off but if I did that ride in the real world I'd do it a lot more conservatively in case I blow up.

All good fun though. May have another pop today but on the TT bike rather than a climbing bike.

@Brusgaard what bike did you use? I assume TT as you had an advantage over me on the flats that I clawed back on the climb. Did you change bikes or use same bike all the way through?

I certainly got very sweaty and out of breath as it took me over nine minutes to 'climax' the hill

Not safe for breakfast :eek::laugh:

If I keep my breakfast down...I'm going to have a go on the lightweight setup. I usually do much better on the flats so psychologically anything that can help me on the hill will be great, especially as I can only really do a seated climb at the min so i'm not aiming for any time at all (I want that hat:gun:)

Giving ToW.5 a crack today at 1700 uk time and then into the Giro TT at 1730. It would be great if there were any other Cyclechatters joining for company.

I’ll be on the real life tt bike hooked up to the turbo and it will be the first test of new rear disc covers I’ve been working at fitting over this last fortnight. This could be a risky strategy if My handicraft fails and the covers fall off mid ride and tangle up in the bkool

I'm not 100% sure why zwift has frozen on the TT course. Guessing by the blinding yellow flash I'm going to guess I've been raptured...? Was going to be a crap time in any case so might try again later

I'm riding in a bit so be finished by 5 today .... sorry. Looking to do the 12:30 Giro TT on the TT set up. May then stay on the course and do loops up and down for a couple of hours ... see if I can do 4 climbs (may bail at 3, we'll have to see  )

No worries.

I got back yesterday as well.

I was in Port de Pollenca as well at the Puerto Azul hotel. Where did you stay?

Fantastic place to ride. I've been with a bunch of guys from a mix of clubs for 4 of the last 5 years.

Glad you enjoyed it. Didn't do Sa Calobra this year but I agree its a special ride.

How long warmup you do before the short time trial like yesterdays Giro TT. I was watching Finnish Eurosport yesterday and there was assistant commentator who says that warmup at this kind of short time trial suppose to be 2-3 times longer than ride itself.

Sounds about right. 30-40 minutes sort of makes sense. Priming the pump and pipes for full bore action takes a little time :sweat::sweat:
