Good to see a few CCers on there tonight. @kipster was going well on the circuit in the same group as me. Saw @Brendan Parker too at the bottom of Embankment heading towards Tower Hill. Didn't see Paul or Adam as they were miles up the road :notworthy:

Pleased with that time ... clawing a little more back on the C front runners :ninja:

It was me tonight Carl, fighting a cold and feeling rubbish so just turning the legs over with a stupidly high HR for the effort

Lost 4 minutes to you on that pesky hill. Was in the group behind crossing tower bridge.
I just can’t race up hills. Great ride mate :okay:

Good to see you on there Paul. You must be really struggling if I'm in the same group as you  I had something similar for stage 1 -overheated in first 30 mins, but thankfully the cold moved on quite quickly :okay:

Didn't realise you'd joined the ride tonight until I saw you on the Embankment. you must have had a fast start.

I could see that big group just behind my group. I was sitting in, resting the legs ready for the climb. Which seemed to work well as I got myself a decent PB on the Keith Hill climb tonight at an average of 242 watts (14:43).

Started the hill in 360th place, and ended in pretty much the same place as I overtook others up the hill, and others came past me!

What I try not to do these days is react to others on the hill - I just get into a steady pace and ignore if others are coming past me. If I start to chase I just blow up!

Joined very late having just go home...30 seconds to go and no warmup at all. sprinted from the off just to get from the back of the pen to the leaders. The lack of warm up nearly had me over the edge and I just about held on for grim death until my HR got up to normal race temperature. I stayed with the front group of 50 until the climb. All stayed relatively sensible bar one massive kick at the midway point which shelled a few riders. I lit it up as best i could with a km to the climb knowing I’d be sliding backward once the road turned upwards. Sure enoughi went from the front 5 to 40th very quickly on the climb. I picked it up towards the last mile and reeled in quite a few. again the counter was wrong going from 0.1miles to go to 4000ft.
I was busted. Anyway ZP has me in 19th place (Zwift was around 30th).
Thank fook the Tour of London is over.^_^

I had a series of mistakes, got home late so no warm up, moved the turbo into the house from the garage yesterday and havent had a chance to recalibrate, lost a load of places in the hairpin bends (didn't have the legs to close the 4 second gaps that it dropped me by at each hairpin). HR went up quickly and stayed there so I was managing that all ride. But it's the first ride this week and it was good to turn the legs over.

just been playing with the hills around here to try and make 29000 ft - 108 times up the back side of neville holt , the local time trial hill
would give you 108 miles of climbing - of course you would have 108 miles down to get over it - sounds like long day - i moaned when i had to do it twice ^_^

You’ve actually got me thinking about it now... :headshake:

Yer was in earlier than I thought so thought I’d rush about and ride at 6 where there would be more taking part. I was in 2 minds go flat out on the flats to try and gain a bit of time and loose them again on the hill. Or save a bit for the hill and go faster up the hill?
I didn’t manage to do either  Still have stage 3 to do. Yep more hills
