Not my favourite course either. The glass sections are not for me. Would have preferred to have kept NY 'real', even if they had transported the riders from NYC to Nevada or something as they do in London. Shame.Probably going to skip this one, as my overtraining isn't going away and the sky roads are rubbish.
Even Watopia makes some sense - the courses feel like they were designed around the fictional geography instead of NYC's "hey we put a big hill here that serves no purpose other than to penalise heavy riders, wow aren't we fun"
Might do the "B" course when I feel well enough to try, since I do enjoy the park circuit.

51:35 Had a sore throat, feel warm & rubbish. Thought I'd get it over and done with. I hate New York, I was bored and it felt like slow motion. At least the last two are decent courses.
So nearly stayed with you on that first climb - just ran out of legs towards the top and you were gone! No complaints about the rest of the ride - I got dropped by my group again on second climb but always found an OK group to ride with. Knackered and starting to cramp by the end though.
52.12 for me
It was tough, I tried to zone into the cheesey music I had playing. I feel like deleting The New York course file out of the Zwift folder tbh. That had to be the most rubbish stage ever.😂
Milzy, you trying to make us slower peeps feel bad? Ill, bored, slow and still quicker.. have a heart- say it was tough!
Bottle on the bike, with a second bottle just within arm's reach when I'm riding no-hands.As an aside, I drink out of a glass on the turbo, does everyone use bottles or glasses? Just curious really
Ah but having the strength to not get gapped at those key moments is what it's all about. It's not flattering you, it's well deserved because you're doing those high power intervals when you need to and getting into the faster groupWhwn you went passed me I was genuinely thinking ‘sh*t I’m in bad shape here’. I was just clinging onto your wheel for a while. But then you ran out of legs literally a few meters from the top of the climb. And by the bottom of the hill the gap was already 17 seconds. It is crazy how it works out sometimes isn’t it. Because after that I really had nothing else to give and the course beat me up quite badly. But just being in that group at the top of the hill was the difference. These big group rides really can be quite flattering. Good for the ego if you allow it to be but the results don’t tell half the story.
You're right, there's pros too like having to push harder to get better fitness results. It pays off when you're out on the road.Ah but having the strength to not get gapped at those key moments is what it's all about.
