The local hospice do a ride each year but have cancelled it again this year due to the pandemic. The club rode it anyway, 80 miles, was getting warm by the end (30c), still I managed to get through two 650ml bottles which is a lot for me (plus a couple of cups of tea at the requisite cafe stops). A good 4 and a bit hours in the saddle.

Just getting ready for a planned 3hr Endurance ride. Thought I'd go a bit earlier than usual (I'm an afternoon man generally) but it is already 25C, so gonna be a sweaty one I think :sun:

Life is going to be hectic, well more so. Daughter borrowed our EV car for travelling to a tough mudder event. 🙏🙏

She's gone and done it now

Laid up with fractured leg ( possible surgery to realign) We are now glorified ambulance taxi for her busy social life over the next few weeks

Been out yesterday and today.

54 miles on the Club Run yesterday saw my VO2 max up to 50. Garmin Connect says I’m top 5% for my age and I have the fitness of a 20 year old. Shared this with my family - daughters were suitably unimpressed!

Weighed myself when I got home. Lowest weight since I was in my teens at 10 stone 12lbs. Shared this with my daughters. Got a message back saying ‘Eat. More. Food’

Followed their advice and ate a curry last night and back to 11 stone after todays 2 hour workout. 4 x 10 minutes hard then 10 minutes easy.

Feeling a bit tired now, so planning to watch the final stage of the TdF. Hoping Cav takes it to complete a remarkable comeback!!

Del, I don’t have a Garmin but my Apple Watch provides a VO2 max reading based on hr and blood oxygen levels and an algorithm that puts mine at 46.5 , up from 32 ,3 weeks ago. I have no idea how accurate it is but I know that compared to my pi$$ poor cheddar gorge effort, where I struggled to breath with the effort of riding hard, I had no such issues today. Well, apart from the usual ones.
Your name popped up in some of my segments today. As did Tommy’s. You two might want to come out this way again and get back some credibility 👍😁
