Been out yesterday and today.

54 miles on the Club Run yesterday saw my VO2 max up to 50. Garmin Connect says I’m top 5% for my age and I have the fitness of a 20 year old. Shared this with my family - daughters were suitably unimpressed!

Weighed myself when I got home. Lowest weight since I was in my teens at 10 stone 12lbs. Shared this with my daughters. Got a message back saying ‘Eat. More. Food’

Followed their advice and ate a curry last night and back to 11 stone after todays 2 hour workout. 4 x 10 minutes hard then 10 minutes easy.

Feeling a bit tired now, so planning to watch the final stage of the TdF. Hoping Cav takes it to complete a remarkable comeback!!

sounds like a good weekend of riding Del. 18’s and back via Box? Happy days…

The wheels are from a website called farwheels. They build Chinese rims to order on hubs of your choice. They’re 68mm deep, 24mm wide at the rim, tubular wheels.

Just signed up for Tuesdays Zwift Classics Series (10:00 - hopefully cooler) ... Not sure I like this Autocat system ... It's put me in C4!!! The reasoning behind it is that Everything Bagel is easier than Yorkshire UCI Forward!!!!

I can only hope that twice up the KOM does it for some of the watt monsters!

Going to give it a miss this week, already 22 degrees here.... ☀ 😜

Might go out for a pootle later with my daughter as they've shut her school again !!!

My only bit of advice would be to fill a 2L bottle with water & put it in the freezer, then just before you ride place it in front of your fan, instant cool air... 😎 👍

Anyone else getting TDF withdrawal symptoms? 👎

I bought a frame last year. I can’t remember exactly when to be honest but I think maybe nearly a year ago now. Basically I love riding track bikes. I think more than any other type of bike to be honest. They’re just very unique in my opinion. They’re obviously limited in their use by the fact you’re limited to one or maybe two gear ratios per ride. And not having brakes means there limited to where you can use them. But… well I don’t know what to say without sounding arsey or pretentious… So if you haven’t tried it yet then maybe I can convince you to sign up for a track day somewhere, or just to give one a go if you get the chance.

This frame is a first for me as it’s titanium. I’m a bit late to the party in the regard… but for anyone who hasn’t ridden titanium bike yet I think when people describe it as similar in ride quality to steel but lighter and more springy I think that’s my opinion so far too.

I say this every time… but I think this is my favourite bike. Normally I say ‘apart from my cannondale caad 7’. But I think this bike even supersedes that.

Sorry the picture not the best I just have it hanging on my wall at the moment. Hopefully I get out tomorrow and I try and take a few more snaps if I remember. They did this clever thing to make some parts shine and some matte and it looks really cool in good light.

It could coincide with your plan to come and do some loops of Regent’s Park. Lee has a fixed gear bike too but he’s making excuses…

Zwift classics round 2 New York Everything Bagel. Raced the New Zealand time zone race at 08:03 this morning. Another tough one, only 28 starters, I was lying 24th at the bottom of the first KoM. My climbing must be improving as I was 20th at the top and no one passed me. Much of the race spread out with groups of only 2 or 3 forming for short periods. I found myself in a group of 3 but the other two didn't seem to want to work and left me pulling a lot on the front. Managed to drop the first rider at the bottom of the second KoM and the second rider just before the top and luckily had an anvil PU to assist my descent, finishing 18th. Boy was it hot, fan working overtime.

The only thing I dropped today was my chain! Three, or was it Four, Times!!! Safe to say that the H an L screws are not correctly set!!!

Finished 56 out of 59 starters, but most were Lower B's or Upper C's so that wasn't a surprise

No wonder the french shrug their shoulders so much !
All that time and effort spent inventing things and still the English smash their knees up mashing along in one gear

Love the looks of the black and titanium. I've lusted after a ti bike since seeing the Moots years ago. @CXRAndy Tripster really is beautiful.

Edit: What a shock to @berty bassett to be reminded he had a track bike somewhere back in section 6 of the non carbon bike isle of his collection. His wife doesn't even know there is an elevator in the shed going down to the other levels. Being a builder has its advantages other than blowing off your clients to ride whenever you feel like it.
