Good to see the pre season CCC Team training going well... 👍

Speaking of training… I’m getting the distinct impression none of #23 have done much in the way of Zwift racing since the last league finished. So some of us are looking at a relatively short hare and hounds race on Thursday to try and brush of the multiple layers of cobweb covered rust! I think it’s around 19:30 if anyone else fancies it.

How do you find the new way of setting cat boundary’s? I’ve not really paid much attention to how it works

First race big field, all very even (but flat)
Second race biggish field, one bump in road very small group away for 2 laps.

Main advantage is no massive fliers and people are on zwiftpower. Otherwise not massively different but early days.

From my perspective it's pretty poor I've been bounced between C4, and C5. C4 is an individual TT while trying not to be last. C5 I'm generally competitive, but sometimes, quite inexplicably, the field is stacked with massive watt monsters, so it's another iTT.

As an exercise of enforcing start pens it's good, as an exercise in ensuring fair racing it has a long way to go ... If it was to include ranking with promotion and demotion it might be an improvement.

And just for a couple of alternatives as I have refused Rapha...

DHB? Obviously cheaper, not sure on quality but there are lots of blank designs and also a couple of nice funky ones that could be a good base for customisation:

All the colours and all the sizes in stock - matching shorts / socks etc shouldn't be an expensive problem either if anyone wants to go FKW.

Personally I quite like this kinda thing:

Obviously there is much room for improvement there but that's what I was kinda thinking.

Anyway, just thought it better to offer an alternative rather than just saying no! One good thing about all this choice is we could ALWAYS HAVE A POLL :hyper: (@Spartak lol)

(PS - I ride with a guy who has a printing firm, could be an option if needed)
DHB kit is decent quality - just a notch below the likes of Rapha or Castelli I'd say but perfectly good. Good prices there too @Joffey !

I do like the idea of getting a standard off-the shelf jersey, but the problem is the options are therefore potentially endless, and it tends to come down to thinking "do I like that jersey" which inevitably some will and some won't.

Castelli do a custom jersey design service with a minimum order of just 5 (although I think the price does drop a bit as you increase the order size) which might be worth considering? We could either base the design on our old orange one (but obviously it would be much better quality this time!), or come up with a new design idea?

To be fair if we design our own kit the options are even more limitless than getting one off the shelf.

Good shout about castelli. We got into a dialogue with them last time didn’t we. Do you still have an email contact? I can’t find it. I’ve only had one reply so far from the companies I’ve emailed and that was just to say I’d emailed to wrong department (even though it was their link I followed ).

I am personally still easy either way. If we find a kit we can get a consensus on then all good. If we have to design one then that has its benefits too. If anyone does have kit ideas maybe post them up?

My cycling club use the Castelli service - I think you can buy shorts etc with it too. The prices are very reasonable too. I'd be up for that (especially as I am a Castelli w@nker according to @Ketty ) - EDIT: The Wheelers have jerseys, shorts and gilets.

If required I'll ask for the contact details although I think they are on the website - if not @ me :okay:

For us to come up with some design ideas we should decide what we are calling ourselves. Are we:

The CycleChat Splitters
CC Turbo Club
Cycle Chat
CC ZRL Racing Team
CC Racing Team
CC Racing
CC Splitters
Splitters
CC Yorkshire Legends
Joff's Barmy Army
Ketty's Special K
Bridgy's Bombers
Spartak's Sexy Stunners
Whorty's Winners
Aleman's Alcoholic Associates
Micheal's Monsters
Tommy's Titillators
Cycle Chat Virtual Velo (VVCC)
Virtual Velo CC

Suppose once we have a name we can all get on Microsoft Paint and come up with some top quality designs. Then much like the recently held Euros we can whittle it down to two and then vote on THE WINNER :hyper: in a POLL!!! :hyper:

You can get socks too I believe. Might of changed (?). I’m not a massive fan of Castelli. The bib shorts used to have really thin straps that kind of dug in. But that might of changed and I’m happy to go with it if other people are. I remember from speaking to them last time they were well set up for helping with the custom kit process so that’s a positive, considering I’m still waiting for replies from some other companies…

Its wierd I can’t find this event on the companion app. But the one that’s showing now is volcano flat, as opposed to the volcano climb I first saw yesterday.
I've signed up, and see it in ZwiftPower and it shows as 3 laps of Innsbruck.
