This is how stupid we got with our farmer, the estate agents were finding him somewhere to live temporarily-short term rent, to get him to complete our purchase :wacko:. But he got stupid asking far more from us, so we just backed away. :cursing:

We have hopefully found somewhere else.

@IrishAl what’s your ETA this season?
@Alongo?
I'm going to try and hold out until October before signing up for Zwift again. Fitness wise I'm at my lowest for years so it will be interesting to see what my power numbers look like but I sense I'll just scrape into the B cat grade.

Beautiful wood canoe on Strava.
Thanks Randy…that was the maiden voyage of my lockdown project 😊 - I’ve little to no training in woodwork but YouTube and a good book taught me what I needed to do, and the bonus was it floated. It’s come a long way from getting the timber all cut and almost taking my finger off the first time I used the router.

Amazing. I didn't realize you made it! Even more impressive. It turned out beautifully. Too pretty to use. I wouldn't want to scratch it.

There’s a kingpost truss going on the front, and the dual-pitched roof will be laid with reclaimed Staffordshire blue clay tiles. We’re researching flashings and soakers, and how to mortar-up the verge…

So we’ve got as far as installing the lead flashing… grinding through the render was a bit nerve-wracking! The undercloak, boarding, membrane, battens and tiles are mostly ready to go on… but I think we’ll be waiting for the thunderstorms forecast later this week to shift before we start.

That's looking amazing too Legs. I'm starting to realise that there's quite a few very talented craftsmen in this group.....and there's me :hello:

I hasten to add; we didn't make the oak frame from scratch - we had it custom-made by a local firm Oak Timber Structures. In spite of me being a structural engineer, my incredible wife has been the brains behind assembling it all.
