Great effort fellas. Is there a way to spectate people you follow in the game?

Well that was an epic struggle but after a titanic tussle @bobinski won the race to sit this one out.

@<Tommy> didn't do too bad himself - 2nd on the road?? Amazing

@bridgy and I had a great wee race within a race. I lost group by pure carelessness at the start of the descent and the all dropped anchor and sailed off (terrible metaphor). Paul was TTing it for ages and eventually we settled into a group with the two of us and two PWCC racers and we pipped them in the sprint. Really shows how having teammates makes it more exciting.

How'd everyone else get on? CCC this looked like another course for @Whorty and @IrishAl ?
Yeah was good riding with you @mjd1988 . I had a hard time at the start because of a lack of warmup having got home just a few minutes before the start, so I went backwards a bit. But then I started to feel better and as you say, tried to bridge across from my group to yours. I was stuck in no man's land for ages though- my old group 20 seconds behind and yours a frustrating 10-15 seconds ahead. So from a selfish point of view I'm quite glad you lost the wheels because that meant I could finally catch you and have a bit if company again!

Great ride from @<Tommy> - is that a best finish in a ZRL race for our B Cat team or have we won one before??

Nice one, thanks! Will definitely watch it 'live' when I can

On a side note, there is a 'WTRL Racing' event on Saturday at 11:45. Right up my alley in terms of the time slot, the course looks pretty flat to (Volcano Flat Reverse). Would this be a good choice for a first race?
Yeah if the day and time suit you, go for it and see how you get on 👍. Maybe just check how many people are signed up to it on the day though - if it's a bit thin on numbers and there's a more popular race at a similar time you might want to consider that instead- the more participants in your cat the better usually. Good luck and be ready for a fast start :okay:

Yeah sounds reasonable; they aren't part of the league but are usually well attended.

The beauty of zwift is that you can either just turn up and do it or you can nerd out on the race recon reports/race recon videos people have done for all these courses. Just remember the first 2 minutes of the race are usually flat out but it does calm down

I remember I race around Innsbruck when I was up there at the end but I ended up 3rd or 4th maybe. I think you and Alan were close behind if I am remembering rightly.

boy That was tough. Carl and I were in a lead group of 11 after the first lap but it splintered on the pot climb on lap 2. I held the front group which by that stage was down to 6 riders...until the final lap where I spectacularly blew the cylinder head gasket and limped home thankfully just holding on to 6th place as Carl chased me down.
Great to hear the Splitter went well and Tommy flying like always 😀👍🤜

As always, great riding with you Al. Sorry I couldn't quite hand on to the lead group but I'd set the climb up the KoM the second time as my finish. I wanted to max my prime points then try to find a group to drag me round.

I got into a 3 man group coming to the the start line after lap 2 and 10 or so other riders caught us. This gave me a nice little group to draft going into the KoM for the 3rd time. I knew I could still get a top 10 here, and I was the strongest climber ... I went over 1st (7th on the road I think).

It was then just hanging in to the small group that formed until then end.

With about 3km out a rider made a break, I think he was trying to chase you down. I was then with 2 others I think, going into the small final hill. I hit that full whack and caught the break away chap, and 1 guy came with me. You was about 25 seconds up the Road so I just tried to disrupt the chase to you.

Once I could see you was safe I put the power down and won the final sprint for 7th.

Totally buggered afterwards. Struggled all night with asthma. Feel a bit better now, but I think I may have pushed too hard last night ha ha

Well done all

Is your asthma treated/managed, Carl? It must hold you back in races if it’s not under control, surely?
I take montelukast before exercise. I have 200/6 fostair morning and night, and ventolin if I have a bad attack. Its exercise induced so I just have to take it easy if it kicks off.... problem is, when deep in a race I tend to ignore it until I finish.

The climbs being almost long sprints, then the final big sprint to line, just kicked it off last night. Mostly I managed .... this was worst attack for months.

If Rach was still here I probably would have slowed last night as I couldn't afford to be ill and care for her, but now on my own I'm a bit more 'feck it' as only me to look after. Probably not sensible, but it is what it is.
