Just in case anyone asked that question a few years ago

A lesson for us all tonight in the DBR race. Don't adjust your Wattbike riding position 10 minutes before the race.

Retired slightly injured and very annoyed.

I had issues with hrm again which meant any result would be a dq which wrecked my motivation. That and no warm up meant I was cooked pretty quickly! I'll save the legs for Wednesday

Looks like Carl came 6th!

Yes, that was half my problem too - a 2 mile warm up and then a hurty leg - with one mind on the flat course on Wednesday I thought it best to retire.

Nightmare with the HRM. How's the new bike apart from that?

You stayed with the main/front group longer than I could!

New bikes still going good! Hrm issue is separate problem but partially due to changing batteries with about 1 minute to go then getting very frustrated lol.

It was a tough pace wasnt it? Huge group of about 100 going insanely hard up the hill over and over. But glitchy at the start as well. I knew after the first 5 minutes I wasn't lasting till the end!

In other news @Whorty and @Brusgaard were going well. I was at the front with them for a couple of laps until the leg went. The both looked to be comfortable - Carl even texting as he rode
I waved to Carl as he was lapping me

Lowest 20 min. power so far out of the 4 races BUT 60 min. power the best so far - by 7 watts ^_^ Better cooling in the fishnet T-shirt as well. As a result max HR 12-15 BPM lower than any other similar effort. Power variability on ZP at 1% so I think I paced it well.

Considering it was my 17th consecutive day riding, I'm very happy with the 61st place ;)

What I found hard - and what ultimately caught me out - was knowing when to rest and when to absolutely hammer it because of the constant gradient changes

Probably need a rest day! I generally race a couple of times per week.
