I don't mind how we do the start really - personally I don't think it's that big a deal starting the race straight away despite riders being in slightly different spots on the road beacause the differences in location are only small. But I know some prefer a rolling start so I'm happy to go along with that. My only preference is that the neutralised bit isn't too far/long - I just don't see the point and its boring! The only reason (in my opinion) to have a rolling start is to ensure we're all grouped together, not to do a big chunk of the race pootling along, so pretty much as soon as we're grouped I think we should start racing - about 500m I thought worked quite well for that last week (that's 0.3 miles for those of you foolish enough to have Zwift set to miles which slows down your progression through the levels!)

Nom, nom, nom, nom! ... How about me eating the casserole?:laugh::laugh:

I suppose I ought to check if @bridgy has sent me an invite really, otherwise streaming won't be possible 😢
That's kind of you to offer to do the start - yes that would be great (around 500m/0.3 miles would be good ;))

I think I did send you an invite...

I think the problem we had just going full pelt from the off is that some people get released at different times as well as being in different positions.

That'll be me. We don't use metric in Yorkshire. I should really change it and get my head around it.

Took me a while to get used to it but now I much prefer it - not sure why? Maybe it's because the kilometres tick off that much quicker than miles and you're really grateful for that towards the end of a race even though it's all just psychological!

I find km easier when in a race as I can visualise 100 metres but not 0.1 of a mile (which is actually 160 metres roughly). Just seems more logical. It's also easier (for me) to know that if I'm travelling at 30kph then a km is 2 mins .... so as the distance ticks down I can set in my mind how long an effort is needed over certain segments.

So, for example, I can estimate that the final 1km tonight will take roughly 90 seconds, and I know how much sprint I'll have left in my legs and hence when I can set off and leave everyone else in my wake*

* I'll have about 2 seconds of sprint left, but please don't tell anyone

Greengrocer said "Sorry luv, we only do killagrams"

Mum replied " Well I'll have a pound of your killagrams then"
