You know what traffic in London can be. Couldn't get up to speed, especially with all these people in vans visiting all the way from Amazon ;)

I'll definitely let you know once I hit the same numbers in a race - by that time, you'll be so far back that you won't be able to see it on screen:boxing:;)
Maybe should also have said ... be ready and willing to hospitalise yourself to beat me in C, as that's what I do every race  As you'll hear when we ride together next season in ZRL league, I don't leave anything on the road ... apart from parts of my lungs, but hey, who needs all their lungs eh?:laugh:

tried zwift with and without a power meter just to compare(club mate lent me his off his summer bike) and oddly with power meter felt a lot harder compared to estimated power which felt more like what i would expect for the speed i was getting? either that or i have lost a lot more than i thought........

Hi guys
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here but I recently returned to Zwift and raced the Dbr on Monday.
I forgot how f***n hard the starts are and got to say I was not impressed with the drafting.
I was either getting catapulted to the front in the group or suddenly being sucked out to the back. I can’t remember if it was this bad the last time I rode in a race but I thought someone had said they improved it.
I guess I need to do more races again but why put yourself through so much pain when u can do Zone 2 😀 Tommy 😉.
My only advice with regards the drafting is a) keep an eye on the w/kg of those around you and try to match accordingly; and b) try to anticipate a bit, because generally there's a lag of a few seconds between increasing or decreasing your watts and it changing your speed, so if you expect it to be instant that's when you can find yourself yo-yoing off the front and back

If you do give RGT a go , most the events that are happening are on rgtdb separate from RGT , also it has a group on Facebook that is very helpful where you will find a list of magic roads as well as more events and if any problems they have a page where the top dogs can talk you through it
They have made it a lot more simple by doing it as stand alone but you still have to browse Facebook and rgtdb to get full use

Does anyone fancy racing tonight anyway? Can't remember what race was looked at but struggling to find any mass start Races...except a couple of group rides around 7 but would that be very poor form to hijack?
If available earlier (18:45UK) , you can do the DCU Cup race. It's only 63 km for the B-cat (not cross Cats mass start though), and you will be facing a lot of Danes. Fair warning given - have fun!

Dunno if you've done much turbo work, but to most people it feels (and is) harder than outdoor.

If you've been off the bike for just a few weeks, power output generally drops away.

Also virtually everyone who starts using a power meter experience's a reality shock to what power they can make.

With a power meter its easier to track fitness gains or loss :okay:

Doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm for the handicap race tonight so I think we should shelve that idea for now- happy to look at it again after Xmas though if people are up for it some time
Sounds like we are all doing our own thing today. I’m hoping to jump on around 5pm for an hour. I don’t have a race in mind so it might have to be a workout and maybe even an FTP (ramp) test😱.

There’s a couple of us signed up this one for tomorrow evening…

And then Mr Coach will tell me I am fat and lacking power and make work hard over the coming weeks to reverse this

I've just had lasagne for lunch so will probably do it at 6pm.

If you haven't yet tried them, both Bkool.com and bigringvr.com offer free trials.

I've just signed up to a H&H at 17:30 if you fancy a spin. I'm in C .. but the chasing B pack is mahoosive so almost certainly they will make the catch. Then see how long we can hold on to the B wheels before I explode!!
