17:05, London Classic, so got the ride from the pens to get to Buck Pal etc first. On paper I should be well and truly last so I wonder how long I can hold on to some/any B riders. In a B race in London I've never made it to the top of Northumberland Ave with the lead group so that's my target tonight.

Anyone else fancy helping me?

Remember you have to do the first part too (16:15) as I assume the competition will?

If I can get home in time might see if I can make it. I've eaten a fairly inhuman amount of traybakes and shortbread so I'm not sure I'll be on top form 🤣

Is that the road that runs along the river then turns up to the roundabout? Im always on my limit with most races, I've got very little extra cardiovascular wise to meet the increased W/kg to stay with a pack. I too get dropped up there. Good luck tonight. I might fire up the tablet and offer a cheeky comment or two to spur you on :okay:

Correct ... from Tower Hill, along Lower Thames street to Embankment Station, then right turn up the Northumberland Ave climb to Trafalgar Sqr.

Any encouragement always welcome

Just looking at the B race I've entered ... on 20 minute power I'm looking at coming 49/50 on ZP

However, if we all make it to the final sprint together and fresh, then based on pure sprint power I'm 9/50. And on sprint w/kg I'm 7/50

So ... how do I convince everyone to cruise at a nice steady pace for the whole race and just decide the result on the final 1 km sprint?

Well done Carl! That was a classy field (that peakman guys numbers are insane). We both beat Rick from no breakaways! He ruined my sprint though as he went super early and I followed 🤣

Looking back we probably hit the hills harder than we needed, field kept coming back together.

I do that most rides ... I don't trust the blob to pull it back together, but I need to learn to. You can tell those like me who panic on the hills and think they are going to get dropped ... we sprint up lol

I didn't have much left in the tank for the sprint. I saw you go early but knew I only had about 20 seconds left in the tank. I had clocked from the arch to finish was just over 30 seconds, so I counted down 10 from there before I could start my own sprint. You was already 15 mtrs ahead by then

My kind of race though that ... mostly sitting in, with the little sprints up the hills for a few seconds, then recover. Climbs longer than that and I'm easily spat out the back!

My first B race though where I've actually made it to the end in the lead pack, so quite pleased with it.
