I hear stage 4 is for the gravel bikers ?
Has everyone else got a gravel bike ? I just squandered all my drops on disc wheels ( bloody typical )
Guess I am gonna get stuffed then !
When is everyone doing it - will try and tag along
From the comments on https://zwiftinsider.com/route/serpentine-8 (which is the long route), it seems as though MTB's will beat gravel bikes on this course and I think everyone gets one of those by default. Yes there are better ones in the drop shop, but from memory most of them aren't that expensive.

Well, that's not fair. Does your name have to start with 'B' to compete?

I couldn’t get going in the league race last night so I bailed out and by coincidence there was a tour of zwift ride just starting so I joined that. 950th to 25th.

He's worried now Tommy. 15 secs off his 3 hour lead

😄

I can only effect the result in the races I’m in. Look forward to seeing your time 👍

Reading the results from last nights WRTL event. Comparisons of Ave power and speed are very close. There were a couple of teams that are 10W ave higher but didn't fair aswell as CCC. I presume they are heavier overall denting their ability to stay with the lead pack

I think some of that was tactical as well. The highest average w/kg in our league came from the ATC team who were constantly trying to attack off the front and get breaks but they could never make them stick - they've have been better off staying in the bunch and conserving their energy. After all, they got four across the line in the lead group (more than anyone except the winners) but because they only picked up 2 sprint points, they ended up finishing 6th overall.

Out of interest, what was the B race like post-sprint each lap - wondering if it was like ours?

Basically once you hit the top of Constitution Hill, all the way to maybe Parliament Square, the pace massively dropped off almost like the leaders were happy for the group to reform and everyone get their breath back. The race really only restarted again on the climb up Whitehall each time.

The tricky bit was that if you had sprinted and needed to recover or (like me) had not sprinted and rolled across the line with the intention of catching up to the leaders after the sprint, there was a big risk that you might not get back into the group in time. I certainly had to chase back on hard 3 or 4 times and very nearly missed the catch once or twice, but once I was in the group I was able to recover at 2.3-2.4 w/kg easily.
