I won't be joining you after all, @CXRAndy. Covid kicked up a notch and I can't breathe through my nose. I'll tick off the new Makuri routes instead.
Have you had covid before or triple jabbed?

I had covid in December 2020 and took till February before shortness of breath fully cleared.

Certainly, with a big dose of intermittent fasting :okay:

I did some very brief research. I genuinely know very little to nothing about dieting…

The keto diet could cause low blood pressure, kidney stones, constipation, nutrient deficiencies and an increased risk of heart disease. Strict diets like keto could also cause social isolation or disordered eating. Keto is not safe for those with any conditions involving their pancreas, liver, thyroid or gallbladder.”

Not sure it’s the diet for me if your hunch regarding my thyroid is true! 😄

Although to be fair from what I’ve read I’m not sure how well a pub lunch fits in there either!

A pub diet is definitely more appealing to me though

Seriously, Im not in ketosis. But those complications are alarmist. Keto is to reduce carbs to the point the body makes ketones and creates its own glucose through gluconeogenesis.

The basic keto diet involves lots of fresh vegetables and a slight increase in proteins from quality grass fed animals or freshly caught wild fish an increase in saturated fats or olive oils

There is nothing which would be detrimental to a humans health.

Carbohydrates are not essential to human health, only essential fatty acids and amino acids from proteins.

Its not a problem for you Tommy being slim. But the Western diet has been an absolute disaster for a majority of folk. Diabetes and obesity have gone hand in hand for the last 50 years. The complications from diabetes are numerous and are by far the biggest contributor to heart and circulatory health plus other organs. Not to mention Alzheimers.

Now, I try and keep my carbs low, but really try to fast 16-18 hours a day. My next meal will be tomorrow evening.

Lots of water between now and then :okay:

I’m sat at home now awaiting the results of a pcr test, hence the multitude of posts…

Hope it’s not too bad for you Pete 🤞
Managed to avoid it until about a week ago. I'm double jabbed with Moderna but didn't get around to getting the booster.

For a week or so it was really just fatigue and brain fog and I thought that would be it - carried on working from home (been doing that for nearly two years now). However, starting Tuesday I woke up with my sinuses and nose completely clogged up, dry cough, sneezing, and the like. Took time off work starting tomorrow until end of month - company has a policy in place so no need to use holidays. Can't get out to have a walk so I'll open the window and spin my legs on Zwift - will take it easy. I heard it gets worse just before getting better so maybe that's it.

I haven't ridden since my big ride last Friday - went down with a horrible cold on Saturday but it's starting to subside now.

Daniel (4) returned a positive LFT on Monday evening, though the rest of us have remained in the clear. Doing some intermittent working from home this week to look after the little guy while he bounces off the walls.
