I am up for a hill climb series. But can we hold off until after my week in Majorca 5th to 12 March and, oh yes, my 5 days cycling the climbs around Nice , 17th to 21st March? 😛😁 I will either be a broken man or the fittest I have been for a few years 🤞
Shame, bit late for me ... I'll be peaking (or dying) last week of February in Tenerife

Can we have a downhill race? I feel it'd be my speciality on zwift.
I'd win with freewheeling ^_^

Howdy chaps. It's been a while since I've ventured in to the sweaty pain cave of the forum 😄 I'm just in the second week of the Zwift "build me up" training plan, although I'm not following it 100% I must admit. Idea is to go from lay about to lean, mean cycling machine in just 3 weeks but when that doesnt work I'll also accept ~6 months :okay::laugh:

I started last monday with a ramp test which left me a quivering sweaty mess and yielded only 215W FTP, with my weight at 116kg when I started that didn't give the most impressive W/kg I've ever seen and goes a long way to explain why I struggled to keep up with the social group on the last club ride I attended

Anyway, I skipped the zone benchmarking workout having done the FTP ramp test instead and got stuck in. I did Devedeset and Pedaling Drills during the week and tackled Red Unicorn last Sunday. It was a bit of a shock to the system but I got through it  I had a rest on Monday then tackled What Goes Up, Must Come Down and came unstuck after the third interval - my legs were toast so I warmed down and stopped to save myself for another day. I did Halvfems on Tuesday and got through it ok and have just completed Mishmash this evening. I'll probably skip Orange Unicorn in favour of going out on the Mountain bike on Sunday; I'm not fit enough to do both currently and would rather get outside if possible!

Anyway, thought I'd pop in, I'll probably update my progress over the coming weeks. I'm over a kilo down so far and my lungs are feeling better already, so hopefully I'll be able to get some good gains in the coming weeks 😊 No target, I'll just see how I get on :becool:

Congratulations John.

Id recommend ditching all DIY and just concentrate riding your bike :okay:

welcome back ..... Not sure if they were available when you last played on Zwift, but the pace partners are really good to get a nice even paced spin. Big groups always with the pace bots, so never riding alone :okay: C cadence is about 2.4 w/kg, usually a very flat course, so might be worth a try.

Howdy! I've started in November and apart from the ramp test on day 1 haven't done any structured training at all. Ever. As @CXRAndy says, just ride and enjoy, tick off the routes, maybe do a D cat social ride or even a race. Best to leave the training plans for when performance flat-lines.

There's also a D cat pace partner that rides at 1.5 W/kg. If you want to make it a bit harder (closer to your current FTP), just grab a heavier/less aero setup - like the Buffalo.
