There is a market, but is it big enough for the big money backers. Peleton burst into the home training market, aggressive marketing, throwing litigation against anyone using the word Peleton.

They have imvested hundreds of millions of dollars in trying to swamp the market. They had early market penetration success.

Then some cockup advertising,
(Remember the one where a beautiful young athletic woman, said my husband got me a Peleton bike-inferring she was fat and ugly)

There was quite a backlash against Peleton.

Since though, they have been undercut hence why they dropped prices to entice users to stay or join from new.

Oh yeah! I remember that advert - a touching journey of a 135lb woman to becoming a 130lb woman ;)

Wouldnt be my thing either but never really got the culture war between the two. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

In a way it's similar to people who get angry that anyone cycles indoors

I agree. There’s too much snobbery around cycling. Probably a reflection on life in general in this country lets be honest...

It’s not for me either but there’s obviously a big market for it. I dare say it’s more appealing to people coming from a gym background rather than a cycling one.

Noooooooo! ZP 1hr40:58

On the second lap, wheels well and truly came off.

I was shedding numbers faster than a skydiver.
So my wild guess wasn't too far from truth when I said stage-8 last twice as long as stage-7. Not done that yet, I do that tomorrow. I try to do something easier today, I just scoop snow 1hr today.

i think my basic turbo trainer is wearing out?
got it second hand looked like it had never been used, still boxed and works fine but lately the resistance is hit and miss,
Today i was cruising at 4 w/kg at less than 130 bpm at the recommended setting giving me about 25 mph on the flat!, now on the road pre crash i could hold maybe 21 -22 ?

I can’t remember for sure. But did you say a friend lent you power meter. If your power number isnt right then that would be the power meter rather than the turbo ?

he had it back as he wanted to sell it due to the fact he fractured his pelvis on black ice and gave up cycling , needed the cash as he only gets SSP

Stage 8 was horrible.

Actually hate the elevation map, it isn't reflective of what's coming up and keeps switching direction of travel and disappearing, really grim as expected the last 6km to be a bit bumpy based on the map and didn't realise you had to go up that stupid virtual road again.
