And I've been put on anti-depressants, so I'll be arguing less

Sertraline ... only been on for the past 2 weeks as I hit a really dark place but yes, they do seem to have evened out my emotions and taken the edge off things. Back to see the mental health nurse today as she was a smidge concerned for me  I'm actually not too bad though this week.

Probably be on them for 6-12 months at least apparently, which is not ideal and not something I wanted but everything got a bit much so I had no choice in the end.

Thankfully not impacted my racing on Zwift

Same as mine ! Been on them about 3 yrs! Coming to terms with when I gave my noggin a floggin - certainly got me out of the spiral and helped control mood swings
Definitely didn’t want to go on them but when I was asked to sit back and look at what was happening I sort of lost the argument

I dont know how old you're cyber? But with 3 races per week, I need two full days recovery before the next event. I could do more, but from experience know about cumulative fatigue.

Get some rest fella. Rest is what makes you faster, stronger
Exactly. Indoor training without racing is hard enough. I am not an expert but if you want improve your performance then endurance training is a key, long Z2 rides. It doesn't sound much maybe boring but it build capacity. Those rides can include few short sprint to add bit of stimulant but focus is base build. Personally I save my energy to summer when it comes. For now it's time more with endurance and when outdoor comes then it's time to use more power. That is my way to do it.

Same here ... didn't want to go on them, but some of the thoughts got dark and scary so I had to ask for help before something happened. Only 2 weeks for me, but already I'm feeling more level so I'm glad I spoke to someone for sure.

Good man

2 weeks is usually how long they take to have an impact so that's a really good sign

Not that it's in any way as important but there's no evidence that SSRIs negatively impact cycling performance (people can and will study pretty much anything to do with medication). @berty bassett is a case in point, having narrowly won our last league- and if you are in a better place then you'll be cycling more.

They have studied if it is a performance enhancing drug! And....no evidence that it enhances performance in people who don't have depression/anxiety.

Although if you do have anxiety/depression it should increase motivation/energy levels

I don’t think they help with Anything other than mood although I am also on apixaban blood thinners that I am not too sure of - but can’t stop them so nah nah ne nah nah
Noticed when started taking them that heart rate doesn’t get near what it used to - but don’t know if that’s the damaged heart or the drugs
If it’s the heart then just think what I could do if I had a proper one 😁😁
