Just noticed the 3D mapping on Strava...

Reminds me of an old joke where a frog goes to heaven. - There's a cue that reads 'beautiful animals' and another one that reads 'intelligent animals', so the frog goes: Feck! You want me to split? And Mothy PythonSPLITTER!!!!!
What's interesting in this and similar cases is that the corporate reaction only made matters worse. I, for one, never heard about the exploit, didn't know about the blog and only caught up when the fudge cake hit the fan - i.e. the ban and subsequent outrage.Interesting post that.
When reading the first couple of paragraphs I thought that Luciano and Eric were going about everything in the proper manner. But then Luciano couldn't hold his scoop and published it and it took off big time. He's made a big error there.
I agree with Eric - he jumped the gun. Luciano seems to have been a little butt-hurt getting banned for breaking the ToS and has kept posting and whipping it up. Now EVERYONE knows about the cheat.
Zwift could of obviously handled it better and the shadowban seems harsh to me. They need to fix it and let Luciano back in.
What is blazingly obvious though is Zwift need to get closer to the racing community - they don't appear to understand it at all. I don't know why it is and why they don't have a dedicated staffer / team to deal with racing issues.
Hopefully it'll be resolved soon.
Not going to lie. Was not expecting that sentence to end with “future commute”Nice outdoor ride with GF today, checking out her future commute
… yeah, of course you were expecting “…pedalling action”!Not going to lie. Was not expecting that sentence to end with “future commute”![]()
He's a decent bloke. Gave me a ride-on the other day, so he MUST beGood to see that the necessary and inevitable climb down has finally happened with Zwift CEO Eric Min stepping in to apologise, remove Luciano's ban and promise to fix the cheat loophole.
Terrible PR c*ck up by Zwift though, which could be added to the "how corporations shouldn't behave" textbook
Great statement from Eric, he seems to have his head switched on here.Good to see that the necessary and inevitable climb down has finally happened with Zwift CEO Eric Min stepping in to apologise, remove Luciano's ban and promise to fix the cheat loophole.

Look forward to the bug bounty program launch in 2026![]()
Golden Cheetah gives me a number. Supposedly, 42.1 back when I started and 47.1 now.Do any of you put value on the calculated V02 max ?
I found on it on my watch. 38 is my number
Great statement from Eric, he seems to have his head switched on here.
@bobinski - perhaps you are right about offering my services, we are singing from the same hymn sheet and he is going down the policy route by setting up bug bounty program... which is is my bread and butter
"It is important for us to uphold our terms of service as they exist to protect the enjoyment of the majority of Zwifters ... we plan to introduce a bug bounty program that will not only make it easier for Zwifters to highlight issues but will also reward them for doing so. We will need time to develop this program but will share information in due course."
I completely agree with him - banning Luciano was right, lifting the ban was right, and banning anyone who does the same thing in the future will continue to be right. The good intentions of Luciano and others like him should be directed into the bug bounty program. A painful way to learn that lesson, but glad it has happened to be honest.
Eric - if you're reading this, make the CISO accountable for the bug bounty program, make it wide ranging to include in game issues such as cheats, but also other areas like infrastructure, integrations, APIs, and corporate systems. That much is free
