Was it outside of an event as the supertuck isn't as good when not in a race

it was outside an race, just a group ride. I did supertuck being alone on the descent.

Id forgotten that about Zwift slowing riders on non race events. Odd they would do that

Yeah I think the fact one descent was in a race and one wasn't will explain the big difference is speed as Michael said - Zwift actually apply a bit of braking when descending while not pedalling when you're not in a race - so a descent like that in a race will be MUCH faster. In a race the supertuck is equivalent to the aero power-up in terms of gains.

Zwift say they don't give the same advantage outside of racing because they don't want to incentivise you to stop pedalling when free riding, and it also makes it easier for groups to stay together or catch each other up in group rides if some inadvertently go off the front.

Raced again last night. Another Masters event, this time at MK Bowl.

I've raced there before, but Cx in the Bowl rather than the peri track round it

Only 13 in my race but I got 3rd overall and 1st in my Age Category.
🏆 yay well done.

Also did my best sprint powers of the season and highest NP so quite pleased after the gruelling racing over the weekend.

@alex_cycles You should join BMCR and come have a go at these :okay:

I think I quite possibly will at some point (just looked at the site and laughed as it's the only way I can get into D cat  )

Back racing after 2 months due to slight health setback

Hell of the north route in France. Finish is up the petit kom.

I just wanted to hang on to the lead group until the climb and then pace up. I did that and then held position. Race score dipped a little.

Didn't die, very important, 😂
enjoyed it, like always a shock after layoff

Rode the Zwift New York course IRL today but no sign of the glass highways unfortunately! I swear they’ve ramped up the elevation numbers on the virtual version because there were no climbs that went over 5% in my opinion, whereas on Zwift it hits over that number multiple times per lap.

The rental bike I got had a weird set up with regards to its gears though - it was a Shimano groupset but everything seemed backwards to me, so due to muscle memory I kept on changing up when I meant to change down and vice versa. I know American bikes typically have their brakes the other way round to European ones but that’s the first time I’ve seen it with gears.
