Good luck to everyone riding in stage 1 of the ZRL tonight - gonna be a bit of a shock to the system for most of us I suspect!
Yeah, just looked back and this is the first TTT I've done since December 2023 and even then that was not really a proper one - only four riders, two of whom were racing up a level, it was basically a get round and finish to get some points job, knowing we'd come last regardless. Have to go back to March of '23 for an actual competitive TTT.

@alex_cycles - have you managed to get your TT bike fully upgraded yet?!

No. Just level 1. I don’t do many TTs, so it hasn’t been a priority.
Have a good one. We came 4th

Sorry I couldn’t make it tonight, I was busy retaining my title at my club’s HC championship. Knocked 19s off last year’s time, from 2:35 down to 2:16, which the old-timers suspect may be a course record.

Just completed Baseline #1 group workout, three attempts at best 5secs within 10sec freeride intervals.

Very easy workout besides the sprints.

Almost 50% better than my 90 day best from Tiny Races a few days ago.😱

Used 4iiii for power, forgot to calibrate beforehand, last calibrated before Tiny Races.

Barely raced on Zwift most of summer and I rarely try sprinting when riding outdoors.

Sounds really good. You’ll never get anywhere near your peak sprinting power at Tiny Races - the 6 minutes of eyeballs-out riding beforehand blunts your legs quite a bit. I can do 1100W+ for 5s quite easily on fresh legs, but I’m not sure I’ve ever topped 1000W in any race.

TTTs are good workouts aren't they! Unfortunately we only had 3 starters so were on a hiding to nothing but luckily Paul was there to do the lionshare. Time towards upgrade of the TT bike as well

Yeah that was a bit of a disatrous start to this ZRL wasn't it?! Bram had to drop out last minute and then TWO riders were unable to join the race (not sure if user error or Zwift issues but they're experienced racers in ZRL and knowing Zwift it wouldn't surprise me if it was a Zwift/WTRL issue!) - which left us with just 3 so no way of even getting a finishing time.

We ploughed on regardless though and put in what I think was a reasonable time of 37:57 (from zwiftpower) considering we were just 3 from the start. Hopefully next week runs a bit more smoothly!

I suspect some people got messed up with the update either not working or not getting it sorted out in time.
Never ceases to amaze me how unprepared some people are.
But even I was taken slightly by surprise yesterday morning with yet another update (having updated last Thursday pm).
Last Thursday's update I think 1.97 contained the route so anyone with an older version than that wouldn't have had it.
I bet that caused a few people to miss the race.

Ah yes, I think that's probably what happened. User error then - that said, maybe not the best decision to use a brand new route that requires a very recent update! It's not like there aren't plenty of other routes they could have chosen which would have avoided just one more potential hiccup amongs many others

Just done my 1st zwift race since March ,I'd definitely forgot how much they hurt . The zwift event on Jurassic coast so out the pens over the rollers to Titans . Start wasn't as manic as I remember but as the pack all got together the pace really ramped up tried to hang on over the rollers but got spat out the back at about 3.5km which was disappointing. Was all alone for a while a group of 2 pulling away up Titans and a group of 2 slowly closing from behind . Settled into in my own pace until the 2 caught me from behind then jumped on the wheel. This group was basically pulled along by 1 guy Miladtric from Serbia we slowly caught a few stragglers and the group grew . I hung on until another rolling section with 6km to go when me and another guy got spat . We rode together to the finish despite the odd attack from both sides it came down to a sprint which isn't my strength and I could tell the guy has heavier than me comparing w/kg so I presumed he had more power but the sprint is slightly uphill which is in my favour. He led it out and kicked at 250mts and I just hung on and rolled him on the line 😁 much to my surprise I held 9 w/kg for the final push which is big for me . Max power of 666w so a beast of a sprint . Definitely lost zwift fitness or race craft on the plus side my zrs has gone down to 383 so I'm now below a cat limit in one of the ranges . 38th on the road 30th on zp
