I think that by effectively turning it into a points race, the racing should benefit because it should motivate people who've been dropped to keep riding hard to pick up intermediate FAL points. With the old format, if you were dropped and out of a point-scoring position FAL-wise, there was virtually no point in keeping going. That Innsbruck race was an exception because we were able to work together to get a good leadout for the sprint (and, in a different race, I won FTS on a Libby Hill finish segment after being dropped), but by-and-large the FTS sprint points were going to be won from the big peloton.

I like the new format. It's very reminiscent of a simplified version of what they wanted to achieve with SBP. Everyone has something to play for and those who just went for segment smashing won't find it beneficial any more, so will have to race properly, like real men

Much simpler though and actually doable instead of pissing about with a new system that doesn't work.

Some teams in our league are saying this will give them four weeks to upgrade their TT bikes and try again, but they’d have to put in almost 40 hours of riding (assuming an un-upgraded bike currently) for it to make a meaningful difference.

Our team won the TTT and got the fourth best time out of all D leagues, so I think we’ll stick with our time as there’s too much risk we’ll end up going slower second time round.

We ran with 4 riders and came in 5th from 8 around 4 minutes down ... We'll be racing again, having at least one more D riders ... It won't make 4 minutes of difference but we should have seen fitness increase by then.

I think teams not riding again could be playing with 🔥 🔥 🔥

I am busy putting in some time on my TT bike to get upgrades. I had level 1 this week, almost at 2 now.

But at the end of the day if it doesn't decide the League is it really worth putting yourself through it again? 🤷‍♂️

Did a bit of a recon ride of the second stage altho not entirely sure if I'm riding it. Good course, hard to truly recon for it as only 2 or 3 of us were sprinting and field was probably stronger than what we will have in the b Dev league.

Course is relatively flat but the 8 climbs really take their toll if you are sprinting, I could only hang around to the start of lap three with the group I had. Sprints also roll around quite quickly so worth looking at recon notes etc. I think it'll be all about sticking with an ever diminishing front group and trying to snag off FAL points rather than going all in on FTS as the league isn't set up that way. Could've just watched Alex race in the morning and would've learned more but happened upon a race when I got a chance

Don't count on that approach. I was doing some bot testing and carelessly got my account upgraded to B so unless Zwift can reverse it before Tuesday I am out of my team  😭

Edit to add: Zwift support has sorted me out on a weekend, so I am back in C and will be racing on Tuesday (unless some other emergency arises).

Everyone whinges like hell about Zwift, but I submitted a support ticket last night and they have sorted me out on a Sunday within about 14 hours. This is excellent support. I am impressed.
