Got to Level 100 on my workout today - no Fanfare 🤷‍♀️

Congratulations. I did a few days ago too. Dancing girls and confetti for me 😉

Just raced the Team Draft 2:30 race.

Is it me or are C races harder than they used to be? And, yes it was Cat C - not a ZRS race.

Wasn't a ZRS race, so everyone should have a similar 90-day power history for zMAP and zFTP, but might still have the odd rider who hasn't ridden Zwift in the last 90 days and exceeded C limits in the race.

Under ZRS with decay and a score floor 85% of the 5min seed score, abilities in a pen can vary wildly. It's such a carp system.

D limits were something like zMAP (predicted ~6mins) 3.2W/Kg and zFTP (predicted 40-60mins) 2.6W/Kg under Category Enforcement providing zFTP was less than 150W, but I can't recall C limits at all.

Just gone back to Fullgaz to mix up my pop. Refreshing from the silly cartoon graphics of Zwift & MyWhoosh etc.
Who likes Fullgaz & what are the best videos on there?

I've ridden Zwift since about 2016 and I've tried the 'real world video' based providers over the years but personally I found them weird in that the video action around me was dependent entirely on my speed which is to be expected as effectively they vary the video playback speed to suit the rider speed so an on coming car stops if I stop. Twice I tried Rouvy and both times had a bit of a fight cancelling my subscription, no such issues with Zwift where I can pause my subscription at any time. I like the social side of Zwift and there is a huge range of events

Yeah I really didn't like the uncanny valley effect. Different strokes for different folks

Tim, any race report yet? Have spied a result but nothing on Strava yet

Got a long way to go on my bike upgrades but I am now starting in earnest at least. Was already on level 2 for my aero bike, so decided to do a Climb Portal ride on a climbing bike which got me to level 1 on that, before switching to a TT bike for the descent and a then picked up a Pace Partner (sans draft obviously) for a while. Still need another 4 hours of riding to get an upgrade to it but that’s better than the 5 1/2 hrs I was at previously.

Glad to have finished that tt upgrade. Was a boring month. I”ve enjoyed the races i did this week, so i did another today in the upper range 511 zrs, and was quite pleased to hold on through 4 laps of glasgow, but got arse handed to me on the sgurr. Back to 507 though.

Here you go, Michael!

It was amazing yesterday; the support was incredible and the noise was deafening on the steep part of the climb. Just the best experience I’ve ever had being on a bike.

I didn’t actually have a great ride - I did 3:05.1, 478W average, 110th out of 296. With the form I had a few weeks ago I’d have expected to have been 10s faster relative to others around me, but it doesn’t really matter; I was mainly there for a Good Time, rather than a good time.

My brother and I were off only minutes apart so we were able to get this shot after the finish. 😁

At my friends birthday party this weekend gone, I was chatting to young lad, who is a former rower, now triathlete. He mentioned he had been doing ZRL, but wasnt sure if his squad would be fielding a team this time around.

Hes around 90kg, high B now

Produces around 340-350Watts for 30 mins.

Are you interested in bidding?

Under the current Zftp/Zmap way of categorising riders, Cat B has got a lot harder as it now includes a lot of riders whose FTP would have previously put them in Cat A when the cats were based on 20 minute power- so I assume this is the case in Cat C (and D) as well. If you look at your race results and the profiles of people who finished ahead of you in your Cat C race you may well find some of them have 20 minute power well over the old Cat C limit of 3.2w/kg (I think that's what it was?). This is why the addition of "Development" categories in ZRL was so welcome as joining a B race in ZRL now feels like joining an A Cat race used to!

As always when Cat limits change this suits some riders (who remain at the top of a lower cat instead of getting upgraded) and makes life tougher for others
