I bought a garmin strap which is complete under HRM. This has been bomb proof for 7 years.

In the early days of the Garmin HRMs they were not the most reliable, a well known improvement was to cut the strap, removing the piece behind the HRM so it just attached to each press stud, I still use a Garmin strap cut as described but with a Wahoo HRM

Puzzle game procrastinator!
I found that actually unplugging the HRM from the Strap after every ride saves the battery life considerably. I reckon the HRM stays awake far longer with the strap attached
I reckon that is true.

I do it not only to prolong battery life, but also, like @bridgy, to clean the salty sweat off. I rotted through an unwiped dumb turbo trainer in one winter once! (I used to wipe the sweat off everywhere that I could see it, but had not thought about sweat running round to the underside of the trainer.)

Anyone notice the new draft bar in the Zwift HUD? It's the little blue line at the top of the screen. Nice little addition, especially for those of us on Apple kit who can't use Sauce.

Finally! Personally I haven't seen it yet as I haven't yet had that update but I did read about it and it's good news

Hey @alex_cycles We are going away for a night and leaving mid-morning on Friday. I just about have time to do Race 1 of your series but not race 2. Is that bad form to only do one of them? I've entered but will withdraw if so.

What is your expected completion time for race 1, so I can get my pacing right

Comparison of the new Zwift draft indicator vs Sauce for Zwift draft indicator. In short, looks like the Zwift draft indicator shows how much of the available draft you are currently using, as opposed to the amount of watts being saved

It's perfectly fine to do just one. Glad to have you racing. You'll only get league points for one but at least you'll get a race in. I think this one will take about 4 minutes as we have hilly KoM to do.

I’ll admit I haven’t had a chance to watch ZwiftInsider’s video yet, but from my brief ride yesterday, it looks like the new draft bar really is only there to replace the “get closer 3 metres” graphic they used to have rather than telling you how much draft you’re getting.

I was following behind just a single rider and the bar was filling up very high which you’d only expect if you were in the draft of a full pack of riders surely? The bar’s size really only correlated with the distance I was behind the rider. It’s still a good idea and it takes up a lot less screen space which is nice.

I prefer Sauce draft number.

Zwift's draft indicates when you're in the draft thats it.

His analysis of draft I think is incorrect. The faster you're travelling the greater the draft benefit hence a higher number .

This tells me (correct me if wrong) the Watts Im saving compared to me riding on the front trying to maintain the same speed

I think it's a bit more than this. I think what happens with the draft is they create a "cone" of draft behind riders similar to these graphics

What I suspect the new indicator bar is telling you is effectively where you are in that cone - i.e if you are well positioned in the red you will have a full bar, but if off to the side for example it will show less draft. As you can see from the images, you would still get a red section of draft behind just one rider if you're well positioned, so you'd still potentially get a full blue bar on screen. This is what appears to be happening in the video.

Thanks.

Hmmm, Cadex TT or Aethos?

I think I might go Cadex with the enve wheels rather than the discs. The climb part is going to be ~2 minutes, so half the race.
It's a difficult one to call, but climbing bikes aren't usually recommended for short climbs. Then again, no draft AND 50% of the race.
My gut says Cadex + ENVE.
