Puzzle game procrastinator!
I bought my Victory in mid November last year, can't recall where I read it, but I thought the trial code had to be activated before end of Jan '26.
Oh, I didn't realise that there was a time limit on it!

I'll nip upstairs and see if there is any mention of one on the card that came with the trainer...

If necessary, I would pay for a month when I feel ready for a serious attempt at a 1 hour AdZ.

I can't see any time limit on the card but after some quick research I found out that there is a mistake on the offer. It is for new subscribers only, BUT... apparently, if you cancel your subscription renewal and let it run out, the code will then work.

I won't find out for sure until I try using it later in the year.

Pah, I can SMASH that...

... 5 hour power!

It looks like you haven't recorded many 5 hour rides?

At my age now, I can't see me ever getting anywhere near those other numbers - great efforts! The powers for 5 secs to 1 hour are roughly 50-55% above what I can manage. The 2 hour power is about 20% higher than mine.

I do quite fancy battling my own power curve though. What I have currently logged on TrainingPeaks is definitely significantly below what I am capable of.

I seem to have picked up yet another winter cold after my hilly 81 km forum ride yesterday, but when I feel better I will try to push my power curve up to more realistic levels.

I am sticking to TPV and outdoor rides until around October. If by then I think that I have a realistic chance of doing Alpe du Zwift in an hour I will use the Zwift trial code that I got with my Victory turbo trainer and see if I can manage it before the trial runs out.

In fairness I'm a fairly big lad so the w/kg is a different matter. At some point when kids are older I hope to do some more 5 hour cycles!

It is pleasing to see progress after a dry January with increased protein and added creatine, even with some illness

Yeah it's pretty much all DIRT, but from 3 different "factions" Eat DIRT has Dirt and Ernie, and Dirty Crack of Dawn. Sprockets has SprocknRoll and Mitten has Hellcats. Apart from that we had a team from Galaxy and a rider from Wang Ferang. We did have a few from ZIRT, but they didn't show up today.

The most annoying thing is that Eat DIRT keep moving their riders around, so you're never quite sure which team they're racing for (although they are quite good with their tags). Doesn't make a lot of difference on a race like this though.

I fkn hate burritos.

I've had to drop out of racing again today as still not 100% chest-wise. I'm coughing less which is good, but my peak flow refuses to go above 700 so I'm still 10% below where I should be.
I've only been doing Z1/Z2 riding this past week, but I'm going to try a workout later and see how that pans out. If it goes wrong I can at least bail on the workout and not do any damage whereas if I was in a race I'd feel complelled to carry on hard which may not be too sensible.
On a more positive note, I'm back at the gym and working hard there (no cardio so ok on the lungs) so at last my guns are still firing :training:

For the second week running, I had a mare in Tiny Races on Saturday, having kept riding very easy since the TDZ race the previous Monday it quickly became apparent my legs and lungs weren't up for max effort racing. Meanwhile, my better half is till off work with respiratory infection for almost a month now, how I've only had this lurgy in relatively mild form is a mystery.

Joined yesterday's first running of TDZ stage 5 race not knowing if my body was up for it, always knew that even on a good day I was going to lose ground to the lighter strong riders up to and along the KOM bypass, but I had no choice but to try and supertuck down the descent to recover a bit. Didn't help there weren't many around me on the flat run in to try and bridge the gap, but just couldn't quite catch the lead group before the sprint and had to settle for best of the rest in 32min17secs.

Power and heart numbers were surprisingly good, but felt pretty rough for rest of the evening!

That's just evil 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 Wtrl racing . 24th out of 50 so bang average 😁. Paced it quite well didn't go to deep early (A)lex taught me that ) and somehow did my best time up 23rd st on the 3rd lap chasing points. 2nd out of my little group of 6 just couldn't drop one but up the last drag and he out sprinted me

Also rode the ZRL tonight. Had a full complement of teammates and the climbers managed to bag some points on the climbs early doors whilst I just clung on for dear life near the front group  Managed to recover along the flatter sections by hiding in the pack and by the end of the second lap I’d attained a ghost/invisible power up that I cheekily used as we started the third lap.As I reappeared I’d got a 7 second gap so settled in to TT mode and, with the chasers not working together I built up a sizeable lead before each climb that came down worryingly but managed to stretch it back out again On the descents and flatter sections. By the time I got to the last climb before the finish I’d managed to have a 30 second gap so rode within myself to have my first ZRL win by 15 seconds. ^_^
