Burrito!

That's a very good point about the draft PU. I was thinking feathers might have encouraged attacks but if everyone got a ghost that would be wild 🤣 Certainly better visibility as my screen was very like the above, everyone hitting draft at the same time.

Burrito, that's the one haha
Ghost PU would have been so much fun - a whole team attacking at once and dropping their ghost, could have really shaken up the race.

just didn't seem the right tactic, don't know relative strength of team as it's only the second race, course profile not right as no medium length climbs, very evenly matched pack due to the velo scoring system. If it was later in the series probably more chance of teams forcing something as there would be a better idea about which teams to beat.

As it turned out no one wanted to lose which led to a neutralised race, which was the right call. Glad to see Steves race was a bit more animated though as I really like the idea of TTRs in principle

I agree with this - needed a course wih a long enough climb to force a split I think. The pace was strong enough on the short climbs of this course to deter attacks - particularly from a team of 4 - but a longer climb might have naturally seen the group split up and then we might have had an interesting race on our hands

Looks like Zwift are discounting their smart frame, am tempted to get one…

Finally cracked 300 watts for 1 lap of Crit city on Alex's Friday smash ,managed 303w and finished on Alex's wheel I think I'm being to scare him . 2nd race just me and Alex ,5 laps on the queen's highway so we decided 4 easyish laps and a 1 lap smash up , so I sprinted out of the gate justs for lols . We had some pointless races at the sprint barrier each lap which counted for nothing . Then it just came down to a sprint with Alex having to dig deep to roll just before the line ☹️

Since we both had the idea on race 2 of starting the final lap (we neutralised laps 1-4) with a sprint to drop the other (thanks for the draft there, by the way ) and then we both needed a rest. There were only a couple of options left to choose from.

1. go on the long drag before the final sprint
2. save it for that sprint

Option 2 seemed like the most fun. But I have to say @13 rider is getting a lot better at those punches now. I had to dig deep.

Like you said in your video the neutralised laps ridden at a steady pace suited me more than what would have been surge rest surge which dosnt suit me .The start of the final lap I was hoping you thought I was just messing about for the sprint barrier and I'd get a gap but obviously you went at the same moment so no separation
Edit I really did have a DS for the race ,the guy who runs our teams just popped up in chat just before the race no idea why , but he was telling me your heart rate compared to mine ,the lengths I'm going to to beat you 🤣

I was hoping to cross the line of lap 4 right behind you but having accelerated to a high pace and leave you for dead at that point.
But you had the same plan. So after 4 laps neutralised we instantly neutralised each other's attack plan.

Haha - my HR is very high compared to most people though. I've had an hour over 180 before now. It's not really a very reliable indicator.

He was getting excited at the bottom of the last climb where your heart rate was 180 and mine was 166 but I'd seen enough of your YouTube not to be that excited

180 is around threshold HR for me. (Normally - not sure at the moment though). If you look at the race average on ZP compared to my other events it was quite low overall.
