I'd get massive anxiety sitting that far back in the bunch! I always feel like I need to be at least within sight of the front.

Well 2 different races tonight a disappointing crit race saw us in 5th place , I kept just missing FTS and fal points was 8th FTS as I crossed the line then got bumped out of the top 10 ,could only manage 12th fal . The ITT as a team we smashed it winning individually and as a team with 1st ,3rd, me 9th and 12th . I won the FTS sprint not sure how many went for it and nabbed 5 points on the climb and crossed the line in 11th . These result meant we hung onto 3rd place in the league . Really enjoyed the series thanks to everyone involved in the organising

Was the 1st sprint Fal or FTS , dirt race book says FTS but your screen showed FAL hence no points for you ?
Edit ,watched to the end and confirmed FTS ,neat tactic you smashed the sprint

Dolphin was lap 1 FTS, 3 FAL, 5 FTS again. I got 3rd and 2nd on the FTS but nothing on the FAL. I saved my aero for the second FTS.
Also smashed the sprint on the iTT. It was the only good thing I did in that race apart from DFL.
Ended up 13th on GC points and 3rd in the sprint Jersey. But our team won the League overall - only bloody just though. On points count-back.

I meant the sprint in the ITT your display was showing FAL but the race book said FTS but it was cleared up at the end of the video . The sprint FTS timing also didn't come up in my race either . I also won the FTS I think most people didn't go for it in my race and I didn't have to go super deep so could still hang on and do a reasonable climb

It really is the way to leverage the game to punch above your paygrade on FTS sprints though. As long as you know you are competitive in the field as far as sprints go, it's usually OK. That's the nice thing about DRS - you're pretty much racing the same people every week.

Oh the live scoreboard failed on the second race. Looks like a bug as it happened last time on the double-header as well. In future I will reboot Sauce between races.

There is a weird thing in Yorkshire as regards the segment displays in-game too.

Power records all over the shop tonight in DRS!

First crit race I scored my best ever 15 second power (749W) on the first lap FTS, where I came 3rd, followed up by a 7th on the lap 3 FAL (I didn't compete for the 5th lap FTS). Add that to a 12th place finish and that got me 7th on points. For the record, @Whorty got 2nd, 1st and 6th on the sprints and 9th overall.

Then on the TT I managed 280W for 20 minutes, which according to Strava was my best since February 2023! That helped me to 7th overall, including a 7th FAL and 5th FTS on the KOM. Carl won the sprint FTS, which helped him wrap up the overall series sprint jersey.

The team came second in both rounds, which meant we tied for 2nd in the overall league but finished ahead of the other team on the tie-breaker. In the final GC standings, I got 7th place and Carl got 12th (though having done two less races than me), with our team's best performer coming 3rd. I also came 9th in the sprint competition which was a major shock!

I have the same tactic as you on FTS, start from the back. The other top sprinter in our league does exactly the same. Maximum draft as you shoot through the pack.

You were a monster on that TT tonight, it was brutal. I could barely push the pedals in the end as I rolled in last :surrender:
I did feel like I was doing a Hivey (albeit unintentionally), rolling to the sprint then taking all the points. After that sprint I had nothing left in the legs and couldn't hold off the 2 riders behind me.
Some great results across the team with GC, KoM, GC Woman, Sprints .. a great team in depth in a competitive league. Thoroughly enjoyed this series.

To be honest, iTT's are my jam - if this was a slightly more favourable course to me, I would have really loved that round.

I turned down my trainer difficulty setting to 10% (usually it's at 50% or higher) and spent the first 20 minutes basically staring at the wattage numbers and making sure I hit my pre-determined targets and tried to keep it as smooth as possible - that's why on the video you can see I turned on the graph at the bottom (which I don't normally use) just to make sure my power wasn't fluctuating too much. I tried to pay as little attention as possible to other riders or segments, only attempting to actually catch up to others in the final downhill stretch, which unfortunately I was unable to do as the gaps were too big to bridge.

I learnt it from you  It doesn't work all that well in the non-draft races though  (but I find the iTT peeps don't go for segments all that hard)

I maxed points on the iTT sprint segment last night - by something like 5 seconds - I may have wasted a bit of energy haha I needed those max points though to keep the green jersey so was worth it 🏅
In our league there are a couple of us sprinters, all lurking at the back of the pack as we get to the sprints. It's quite funny to watch as we all try not to get ahead of each other as we want max draft haha

I beat everyone else by only 3s. Wasted energy award goes to you
I was utterly useless for the rest of the iTT though

Exactly the same. I got third in green, but the other two guys were really pretty powerful. I rely a lot on technique for those FTS. When powerful people do it too it's so much harder. Having Sauce shows how many metres until segment start though, which is REALLY useful for winding up your pace before they start.
