I agree, best chips I have ever had were from a stall selling Belgian chips on the Champs d'Elysses on the final day of the Tour. I think I may have eaten my body weight in chips that day....

i don't think you can beat home cooked chips done is a proper chip pan (not a deep fat fryer, just a chip pan). I'm hard pushed to choose between my dad's and my nan's chips... and i love brown bread chip butties.

There is a olde worldy pub in Coventry that does home cooked chips. don't know what it's called because i got taken there by friends but they were fantastic.

Arnside chippy does some excellent chips.
