Am I a heretic?

I know they are good, solid and reliable machines but I just can't bring myself to actually like them. I think there's just something course, ugly, unrefined about them.

Okay, yes, I've justed outed myself as a Rapha cyclist but looks to play a part too don't they :becool:

Yup. Mingers.

It is possible to build up a "Thorn-a-be" with a basic mtb frame and various ebay bits. You get a good solid (and HEAVY in my case) land-rover for less outlay.

My Club Tour with butterfly bars is a thing of beauty and a joy forever.
Except I'm no longer allowed to ride it.

I'm sure they do a job, but yes, they do ming big time.

They are ugly, but they have an attractive rugged integrity in the same way that a land-rover does. You know it'll outlast more modern, sleek but ultimately lightweight models.

Ow!
I say, sir, do you mind?
<finds pointier stick and waves it menacingly in crackle's direction>
;)

<Grins mischievously, as he knows Kirstie's current state of mobility is only up to waving stick about and then skips off still grinning> ;);)

Anyway, I kinda like Thorns but then I prefer function over form, each to their own though.
