For the same reason there is nothing in the news about lacrosse or trampolining or ice hockey. It's a minority sport that the vast majority of UK public couldn't care less about.
The question you should really be asking is "If it is a superior product, why has RL been so unsuccessful in expanding outside its traditional heartland of the M62 corridor?"
I can help you out here, read the quotes and links I have put on here. Granted, at times RL hasnt helped itself but the banning of players was a lot to do with it. Plus the Nazis, snobbery, class system, big money people looking down on professionalism, the South disrespecting the North, middle classes despising the working classes, private schools not wanting to be associated with a working mans sport (I've had schools say this!) etc. etc.
Your post associating RL with lacrosse and trampolining shows RU inequality is live and well. Another attempt to keep RL down. If you want to publish such rubbish back it up with facts - show me a comparison between Ice hockey in this country and RL - you wont be able to, which shows how this misleading bull talks down RL all the time
Tell me, why if RU is the superior product why outside of internationals (how many fans know anything about rugby, I imagine many dont even know which code it is) is it poorly supported and watched? RL is regularly in the top ten watched programs on Sky, so when its equally accessible to RU, it wins hands down, but then again RU ensured it wasnt as equally accessible, and we know why......because it isnt as good and they knew it
