Oh, the recipe?

1 large Chicken
1 Large Le-Crueset
12 bulbs Garlic
250 mls Red wine vinegar
3 Handfulls of fresh Thyme

Break-up the garlic bulbs into cloves, but don't peel.
Place 10 bulbs worth in bottom of Le-Crueset.
Place 2 bulbs worth inside chicken cavity with 3 handfulls of fresh thyme.
Smear Chicken with Olive oil, salt and pepper and place on Garlic.
Add Red Wine vinegar.
Place lid on pot, into the oven at 180 for 60-75 mins lid on, the 30 to 40 mins lid off.
Add a small amout of water if drying out.
Serve with good Tagliatelle and green sald with Balsamic.

Delicious.
Left over Garlic can be uused on toast the next day.

Sleep alone.

I have a similar recipe for Chinese chicken & garlic. Skin on chicken thighs, chick stock, soy, and shed loads of garlic stewed. Proper nice.

The recipe calls for 1 large Le-Crueset, can that be substituted, I always find it a bit too crunchy?

A nice simple recipe I use (did last night in fact) is garlic stuffed tomatoes, whole cloves wedged in, wrap in foil, bung in oven - yumtus.

Can't have too much garlic I rec.

Dan Bo has an excellent recipe for garlic soup. It's not very complicated but I've forgotten the finer details, it'd be good if he were to stick it up on here.

May lead to being compared with a polecat if leftovers are eaten at work, apparently.

The late Keith Floyd had a recipe for Garlic Roast Chicken.
1/2 kilo of peeled cloves stuffed inside chicken
1/2 kilo of unpeeled cloves in roasting tin around the chicken.

OH and I like garlic a lot so we tried it once.....
followed by 3 days during which ALL (and I really do mean ALL) bodily secretions smelt of garlic.

Put us off oral sex for years....:rolleyes:

Aha! Garlic soup:

8 heads garlic, peeled.
Pint of good chicken stock
Half pint double cream
Salt, pepper
Good tablespoon of good quality green pesto.

Boil garlic in stock for 20 mins. Blitz.
Add everything else. Scoff.
Feel a bit buzzy afterwards.
