As per this thread: http://cyclechat.net/threads/help-cracked-frame-on-bike-1-year-old.93449/ my 9 month old Ridgeback has been replaced with a new one. However, it's got 2012 10-speed Tiagra on vs. 2011 105 groupset, otherwise it's the same: http://cyclechat.net/threads/2012-tiagra-vs-2011-105-advice-needed-please-asap.94432/

I told Evans I wasn't happy and they've offered me £1000 to spend towards a replacement, which I can add to, or the Ridgeback. To be fair to them, that's as good as I can expect.

So ... my choices are at £1000:

2012 Ridgeback Platinum with Tiagra on it: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/ridgeback/platinum-2012-road-bike-ec032068
2012 BMC Streetracer SR01 with Tiagra: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bmc/streetracer-sr01-tiagra-compact-2012-road-bike-ec031069
Trek 2.1 C 2012 with 105: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/trek/21-c-2012-road-bike-ec030255
£50 extra for a Cannondale CAAD8 with 105: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cannondale/caad8-5-105-2012-compact-road-bike-ec031474
£100 extra Cannondale Synapse http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cannondale/synapse-5-105-2012-road-bike-ec031477
£175 extra Felt F75 with 105: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/felt/f75-2012-road-bike-ec032703#features
£200 extra Fuji Roubaix 1.0 with 105: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fuji/roubaix-10-2012-road-bike-ec031215
£200 extra Ghost Race 5000 with 105: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/ghost/race-5000-2012-road-bike-ec032425

That's my initial thoughts ... any suggestions? - and thanks for reading three quick threads in succession. I probably can't go much above £200 extra or SWMBO will get :cursing:

You mention a CAAD8, and your clearly also happy to add to the budget. So why not push it a touch more and get the CAAD10 105?

Of course I am biased, (which bike owner isn't right?), but I also appreciate a truly great bike
If not then it'd be the CAAD8 for me.

Had a quick look at the bikes at Evans and 2 stand out for me, the Raleigh the http://www.evanscycles.com/products/raleigh/avanti-carbon-race-2011-road-bike-ec028454
and the Genisis because it is steel, a bit retro and will be a lovely ride and different from everyone else on there bling carbon bikes. It will mark you out as a serious rider though!

comes in other colours. I would say both these are good value.

Do you have to go for full-price products?

On the BMC I like the look of this.

I'm pretty impressed with both of totally fixed's choices though - that Genesis looks the business, whilst the Raleigh and its Ultegra also works for me.
