Ah! I think I might buy one just to pop into town and back on. It'll only need one of those twirly wire locks round a lamp post to keep it safe!

Although it's got electric gears (why?) it's not as advanced IMO as bikes with zero maintenance hub gears and kevlar belts.

+1, thats just what I thought, £21K and you still have Derailleur's and cogs just operated by a servo...why...how lazy. Surely if you ride a bike you are not lazy, so why the daft elec gears?

you would expect something a little smarter for that pile of cash

The point of the electric gears is that they automatically retension after every gear-change, so should never slip or need adjustment. Not that I'd pay the £1600 price, but they are not quite as frivilous as they appear.

A 'proper' carbon fiber super light racer with Di2 gears will be about £8000 (ish). A high end FS carbon fiber MTB will be about £7000. So, why would you pay an additional £16,000 for integrated lights??????
