£5 tyre boot?

Everyone's talking as though a tyre boot is used regularly. In over 50 years of riding, I have never needed one. Buying decent tyres seems to be the answer.

After years of riding and miles and risks multiplied by riding in groups, I can assure you that a tyre boot is a necessity. In most cases our group has manufactured one from roadside litter.

+1 for gel wrapper. worked last year for a mate's tyre as we cycled to Cornwall. Side wall went. His fault due to poor brake pad alignment .
