I bought some spare front chain rings for the 9 speed triple drivetrain on my commuter bike. Unfortunately, the parts I bought online were a bit of a mix:
  • Sora 9 speed triple 130mm BCD 50T
  • Tiagra 10 speed triple 130mm BCD 39T
  • Tiagra 10 speed triple 92mm BCD 30T
As you can see, the 2nd and 3rd chain rings don't quite fit the schema. They're both for triples, and both with the required BCD and number of teeth, but are 10 instead of 9 speed. I really should have checked the order when it arrived (quite a while ago, now).

Can anyone tell me if those 2 Tiagra chain rings would be OK to use on my 9 speed triple drivetrain? I'm mainly concerned with how a 9 speed chain would fit on the 10 speed chain rings, and whether it would affect shifting.

Regards & thanks,

--- Victor.
