For the circumference of the wheel, yes, but that isn't how gear inches work!

My singlespeed's 52/19 gear is a ratio of approximately 2.74:1. Multiply the diameter of my wheel by 2.74 to get the equivalent size that a penny farthing front wheel would need to be.

As they're ungeared, what sort of gradient could a reasonably fit cyclist get up with one?

I can't imagine the Cornwall/Devon stretch of LEJOG would be much fun
Not quite the same but I ride fixed down here including 100mile+ rides most months.

Great video . I past on the A30 in Cornwall as I returned from holiday . Google found what he was up to great effort just getting up the hill I caught him on yet alone the the other 900 miles
