105 front shifter compatibility

Hi,

I use my old Boardman Team 2012 10 speed 105 in the garage on my TACX. The front cog shifter broke (left shifter) - my fault as it was getting very stiff and I should have sorted it. I believe it is 5700.

I'm assuming its not worth fixing? What is the cheapest shifter I can replace it with? I'm really not bothered which one it is as it won't leave the trainer. Could I get a Sora or anything else second hand?

I will sort the stiff cables .

Could look for a friction lever.
This one, a bar end friction lever for £34 for a pair.

If you tend to use just one ring then take the FD off and leave the chain on the favoured ring.

Yes, any STI will do, Sora/Claris even. They all have trim clicks.
