Just spotted this thread. What a nice looking machine and the attention to detail is fantastic. I especially like the grease nipple on the BB to facilitate lubrication, a thoughtful touch that modern bikes could learn a lesson from.
How much would have this cost new back in 1963 and what are they like weight-wise compared to more modern stuff? It would be interesting to compare how much a bike like this cost in relation to weekly wages, the price of a car etc.
