My long gone old man had an Insignia, he said it was a v6 diesel….it was definitely diesel.
The wing mirrors were the worst I’ve ever known and it simple refused to set off in second or from a slow start, you almost had to crash it into 1st if you were moving. Horrible horrible car. With horrendous blind spots in the rear(estate). My mum offered it to me on his passing, I stuck with my 12yr old Focus.

Five pages and no one has mentioned the obvious choice - a Ford Mondeo.

Reliable 2.0 (or 2.2?) Tdci diesel engine, rides and handles a treat, so excellent for twisty roads and pissing down the motorway.

Looks like five bags of sand will get a 2012 with quite a few toys, including auto if you fancy it.
One thing often occurs to me driving daily to work...how few newer Mondeos i see (say 2010 on) compared to the unbiquitous older ones of say 10 years ago and further back. This may be just coincidence of course...
