You are probably right. I think it is a little big for me (you can see from the pictures how low the saddle is) - I probably should have got a small. 20/20 hindsight and all that :-)
With regards saddle height , these are my saddle heights for a 30.5 " inside leg for me 77.5 x.889 = 68.9 rounded to 69cm to BB with 170 mm crank on the boardman (small ) and 68.5 to bb with a 175 mm crank on the subway (18 ")

I picked the yesterday, and got the bike ready for tonight's 10 mile commute,

Just made a little adjustment, flipped and dropped the stem, and adjusted the seat, otherwise everything else is spot on.

My first impression are, this bike feels heavy, but once abroad, it feels quick and light, I made good time comin to work, even though it was peeing down,

the first thing I did once I got to work, was to weigh it, 11.7 kg. I am happy with that.

The Sram X5 is faultless, overall it's a very good bike, and for the money,
what can I say, a steal.
