So last weekend was always going to be a right off as I was at a trade show for work on the Sunday and it was my turn to have the boys on the Saturday. I was fine with that.
All this week I have been looking forward to getting out on the bike and with the weather looking nice while stuck in the office it was even more of a reson to get out.
Thursdays comes along and bang I come down with a cough/chest infection from hell which has consequently pulled my chest muscles and makes it very hard to breath.
I wouldn't mind so much if I had been out last weekend.
So today has been spent washing 2 cars and throughly degreasing the bike washing it down and lubing it up again giving me a very shiny rear cassette and a slightly cleaner chain.
This week's job is to strip the front brake calipers down figure out why the qr is spinning and not sitting right and replacing all the brake cables inner and outer along with some new pads. The current front cable is frayed and has a nice kink pre the caliper so definatly time to learn a bit of maintained.
YouTube and GCN have been invaluable for these how to guide as has the forum.
Oh and while I am at it replacing the manky white bar tape which is starting to tear where the previous owner used to lean it against a brick wall to some nice new red tape to compliment the white paint work and blue and red stickers.
So hopefully by next Sunday I will have a bike ready to go and defunct chest infection.
