What English Rugby team need is not a new coach/ players but a mathematician.
If England has taken that penalty and draw the match, we will be in quarter finals.

With Australia, if they had taken a penalty when the score was 3-10, it may have had a different outcome.

In all sports, it is very important to have a mathematical mind to plan strategy.

The kick for touch wasn't the problem. It showed ambition and a will to win. The resultant line out also wasn't a problem.

The usual response to a line out maul is for the defensive team to attempt to drive it back. England's problem was that, in the last minute of the match, they didn't imagine that Wales would drive them sideways and into touch. Schoolboy error.

Last night Tonga kicked for touch but made sure they drove their maul in field first and then forward

Wonder who we will get in the quarters?

Either way it will be a tough game.

Hogg should have been yellow carded for a (perhaps try saving) deliberate knock-on in the second half. Cheat.
Unfortunately your opinion differs from the referee and the TMO (not that it means they are correct) but they saw no issue worthy of a yellow card. So be it.

The Scottish commentator was doing a good impersonation of his English counterparts. About 4 minutes remaining with Scotland leading by 10 points in what had been a roller coaster of a match, he comes away with the dismissive "Samoa have contributed a lot to this match". Cue a converted try by Samoa, and a very nail biting last few minutes. Great game though, and Scotland have done well to get this far. They might well come unstuck against Wales or Australia.

Can't imagine you'd be that philosophical about it IF Scotland lost the final under similar circumstances.

I await eagerly.
Your eagerness need wait no longer ^_^

Yes Rugby has instances where decisions are me made that may or may not wrong but, in the grand scheme of things the combination of referee, TMO, and has been seen in this tournament, replays within the stadium all combine to a state where they are minimised, if not excluded based upon interpretation.

At the end of the day the manner in which a match is governed is much much more uniform than say football so I am happy to abide by those decisions. Should a decision be made, which I believe to have been wrong, that have cost Scotland the game then so be it. I am sure that a 100% neutral observed may also spot wrong descision, that may have benefited Scotland, that were 'wrong'.

PS us get to the final? Seriously? Lol
