Maths tells me i need less weight and more power, easy really 🫣

Target is still 4.0 watts p/kg but I’ll settle for 3.99😳

Then I’m planning some TT’s (contradictory to the first target…) so my focus is flexibility, lower back strength and good position. Have a flat lake ride targeted in May where i want to improve my time vs last few years.

I wondered where the 2023 Targets Thread was this year - just seen this one!

My target is on the face of it quite simple "Qualify for and "be competitive" at the 2023 World Gran Fondo Championships in 2023"

However underlying that there are a lot of more detailed targets around weight, power, training load etc. plus recovering from my total hip replacement last year.

Still not sure if I can get to where I need to be in time - but progress so far is probably better than I'd feared.

To just stay riding regularly.

I didn't hit my running mile time target for last year, but still though 7:07 was mighty respectable before my hip exploded.
