should I stick to 23c or dabble on 25c?

After having loads of punctures recently I've decided to get new tyres.. The rear one is the main culprit and only afew years old contra wheel. the front ihasn't given me trouble in a long time but is a Btwin that came with the bike when new 5 years ago and shows wear like the rear.

i understand the differences 23c V 25c can bring. I've had 23c throughout the 5 years and can't help but be curious about 25c. My only real concern is it fitting and down the line fitting mudguards (yes I still never bought them lol). I know that getting into 25c might make fitting mudguards neigh impossible however I do wonder if there any new products that are out now which can fit? I suppose I can always settle for a single rear mudgard that attaches onto the saddle post if need be.
I guess I'm just looking for anyone who's gone down that route and can offer some insight.

I'm mainly looking at tyres from wiggle, to have it delivered next day. I have until 9pm.

tl;dr: Should i go from 23c to 25c and does it fit ok on a triban3 (54cm frame)

I ran 23's for years then swapped to 25's a couple of years back. You won't feel any difference or performance whatsoever between the 2 sizes.

2mm difference, personally I cannot tell any difference.
Get some decent puncture resistant tyres, my preference would be Continantal Gatorskin.

while not much of a difference to some I'm not in the position or inclination to spend £20+ for each tire. down the line (6-12months) I will consider it. I don't do that many miles, perhaps 3-4miles every other day

I was simply giving advice, there is nothing worse than trying to sort a puncture on the side of the road in the cold or dark.
Try these then £7.88 delivered, use code COMP5 for an extra 5% off, 25mm will fit the Triban frame.

Buggered if I could tell the difference between the 2 sizes on otherwise identical tyres.

As mad as it sounds my winter bike has 23s and my summer has 25s.It worked that way as not much clearance for mudguards on winter one.I really don't notice any difference and it's takes a lot more abuse on bad roads.

Not mad at all. I run the same setup most of the time. The winter bike won't take 25s with mudguards and the summer bikes just got the tyres put on that were available at the time (well, almost. I have a set of fancy pants wheels that will only fit on the summer bike with 23s).
