i've just been given an absolutely beautiful '60s track bike (pics to come) with 27" sprint wheels. it's going to be used as a road going fixed and i'm keen to keep as much original as possible.

is it possible still to get 27" tubs, or will i have to bite the bullet and go down the 700c route?

cheers in advance

I though all sprint rims were 700c, and the reason that 700c clincher rims first became popular because you didn't have to move your brake blocks when you put your race wheels on, as you did with 27".

Have you actually compared rim size with a modern wheel?

Tubulars no tubeless.

I believe 27" tubulars are exactly the same size as standard 700 wheels.

It should be pretty easy to check if you've got a 700c clincher rim knocking around.
