Are they a particular breed? In a different life I used to keep chickens. I once bought 6 fertile Buff Orpington eggs.

One dud, 2 cocks that I gave away and 3 fantastic hens. I would sit on the back step of an evening, they'd gather round, settle down and I'd play my guitar. They would chirrup along quietly.
One of them would come into the house and sit on Jo's feet.
I really miss keeping chickens.

They are a pleasure to keep and always start my day making me laugh . I hope to have a mix of everything from these eggs all mixed with a Poland rooster so they should have funny haircuts .
Have a google for Poland chickens and you will see .

I have warrens, not sure that's how you spell it though. They are specially bred for they're eggs. They are very funny to watch. They love to be picked up and held, and follow us around non stop. Very placid and quiet chickens.
