Hi,

Just replacing my 50t/39t crankset with a Truvativ Touro 50t/36t crankset. On the inside of the new Truvativ large chainring it is stamped with '36t only'. Why is this and what stops me bolting on a 34t inner ring. It is 110BCD.

Cheers

Could be to do with the amount of torque you can put through a smaller ring?
There will be big a safety margin so if your mechs can handle it I don't see why you shouldnt try a 34.

My calcs say there would be 13.5 mm between the chain rivet and the chainring bolt centre if a 34 T ring was fitted.

The chain would clash the spider.
