£4bn is chicken feed, Sellafield has an estimated decommissioning cost according to Panorama of £160bn (it's sure to rise above that) over the next 100 years.

I often chuckle when the press uses statistics like this...4bn sounds incredible in isolation,but if we instead say the government will spend 0.1% of its total tax income for 6 years, it doesn't sound quite so bad

The refurb will be budgeted at 4bn, actual cost paid will be 12bn
But the 'real' cost will be 500m
The overspend will disapear into the pockets of the heads of various construction companies who, a few years later will have CEO's elected to the house of Lords
