Daft question, but are they from the same supplier/source?

I've just looked (compared/contrasted) the Ribble GCR, with the Planet X London Road

They look pretty much identical, with the same flared top-tube (as it meets the head-tube), same curvature of the top-tube, the same drop-out cut-aways

I don't think they are the same, although very similar, the frames are subtly different inc the welds.

IIRC @T.M.H.N.E.T has a London Road so might be able to give you some feedback to allow you to compare price/specs better?

I do @Buck :boxing:

The Ribble and LR are in roughly the same realm of purpose, Can't really fault the LR, bought mine as a build specced with the standard heavy fulcrum wheels and Rival Hydraulic brakes. Promptly swapped for the equivalent Mavic Aksium and SKS Longboard mudguards added. I've even ridden it offroad with CX tyres on, great fun!

Thankyou!
I had the chance to have a look at a GCR, at http://www.squires-cafe.co.uk/ today
One of the partakers in the Seacroft Wheelers 'reliability ride' was on one
Granted it was a 58cm frame, so dimensional comparison to my 'blue/winter' Ribble wasn't going to happen
It looked good, if very brightly coloured, his was specced with hydraulic 105 group,

I didn't get that much chance to talk to him about it, as the group he was with were heading off
Very happy with it though

I'll stick with the GCR, compared to the Planet X, as personally, I'm not a fan of SRAM, & want to 'keep it in the family', because (as previously stated) I already have 2 Ribbles

Any pics of the 'L-R' with the LongBoards, please. as I'd be looking at a pair, for a bit more coverage

Look to be different on your picture, to accommodate the brake piston
You are correct, I'm currently lying beside said bike and looked :smile:

SWMBO & I had a drive out to Saltaire today, ostensibly to visit & wander round Salts Mill
http://www.saltsmill.org.uk/

Plus, it's our nearest UNESCO World Heritage Site!!; http://www.saltairevillage.info/

During the wander round, I'd forgotten about this shop, but we went in; http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/

Afterwards, whilst walking around the village, she asked me why didn't I buy a new bike?. as she & daughter were going on two holidays this year, & I'm stopping at home

As we continued onwards, with our journey (Baildon Moor, Riddlesden, Keighley, Haworth, Denholme. & the tea-stop at the 'Causeway Foot Inn', I still questioned it

Thoughts please! -
with one model in mind (unless, she purely meant it, only whilst in Salts Mill??), does anyone have/know anyone with a Ribble CR3???
http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/build/specification/view/specification_id/16/#groupset

It'd replace my all-rounder/winter/work bike; one of their blue aluminium 'audax' bikes
I also have a Gran Fondo, that she bought me, for my 50th birthday, back in late 2015
No idea but i would note that Saltaire is one of the first workers social housing models in the world....top philanthropy by Sir Titus Salt...i did my postgrad thesis on it....er, what was the question?

Purchasing it got put on the 'back-burner' for a while
Ordered this morning
How long before it arrives?
Was a hard decision, whether to buy the CR3, or the CGR

The 'state of play' on the Ribble site, still says pending

There's a restaurant/bar in the village now, licenced to sell alcohol, rather nicely named;

I presume that part of the thesis was on the man himself?
He did live for a while, as a young man, not that far from me (circa 3 miles, as 'crow flies')
Once more, my file images seem to have disappeared, during a 'PC paddy', so I refer to Geograph;
