What do you think of the Veltop - a rain canopy for your bike?

I wondered if it was a joke, but it appears to be genuine.

The marketing is aimed at ebikes, although the company says it will fit any flat bar bike.

Apart from being unwieldy and looking daft, I doubt it would even work well given there is no side protection.

Seems OK, but I prefer the simpler (and much cheaper!) solutions of a traditional cape or a handlebar umbrella holder.

They look terrible and imagine how they would feel on a windy day!

It looks like it should deal with light rain fine and you can switch to conventional waterproofs if it's windy, but a good cover means you only need boil in the bag when it's both raining and windy in hot weather, which isn't really that often.

Good grief. How to ruin your street cred in one easy lesson (if ever you had any that is). looks dreadful. Can you imagine the wind resistance on a thing like that. I'd rather just get wet thanks.
